Partnership with Keï Akai Gallery
Hotel Gault is hosting the temporary exhibition From the Sea to the Lake by the artist Guillaume Cavalier in partnership with the Keï Akai gallery. This partnership highlights the gallery’s commitment to promoting contemporary artists who explore intercultural and symbolic themes. The exhibition will run from September 17th to 30th, 2024, and will offer a dialogue between Mediterranean and Quebec landscapes, inviting the public to discover Cavalier’s unique universe.
Temporary Exhibition: From the Sea to the Lake by Guillaume Cavalier
From the Sea to the Lake is a series of works created during Guillaume Cavalier’s residency in the Laurentians. A painter and draftsman from the School of Nice, Cavalier is renowned for his role in the neo-symbolist movement. His works blend mysticism and symbolism, drawing inspiration from both his Mediterranean origins and his experience with Quebec’s landscapes. Cavalier uses a distinct technique combining drawing, painting, and flambé to express themes of duality such as earth and water, past and present, tradition and modernity.
